Travel Easter Basket Ideas

Many families travel over spring break. Warm weather vacations always seem to be the most popular, but there are those that go skiing or take a more educational vacation such as a trip to Washington DC. Whatever the destination, there is the age old problem if your vacation falls over Easter- what can the Easter Bunny (aka “EB”) leave the kids that can easily be packed for the return trip home!?!? So, if the Easter Bunny is looking for great Travel Easter Basket Ideas, have him read on!

Last spring our family headed to Grand Cayman for a wonderful week in the sun. Because it was a tropical vacation, the EB got creative with a beach and swimming theme. I was pleased that these travel Easter basket ideas did not take up a lot of valuable packing space.

Vacation Themed Travel Easter Basket Ideas

First, our daughters each received a beach bag that he used as the basket. Both were an age appropriate bag that they ended up using as an airplane carry on. The EB did not need to go overboard with this bag. I have personally seen inexpensive options at both the Dollar Store, as well at Target in the dollar section, and the EB surely saw these too.

Inside each beach bag was a new pair of swim goggles. What kid doesn’t need at least one new pair of goggles each year? If yours is like our family, multiple pair are lost each summer and the goggles that actually survive end up scratched beyond belief. As a side note, I personally like the tinted lens styles since they act like sunglasses. Swim goggles are an excellent travel Easter basket idea.

Also included was a Hexbug AquaBot, a small robotic swimming fish toy. These little guys are super fun for all ages- whether a boy or a girl. The little AquaBot fish start to swim when wet and stop moving when out of the water. The kids had a great time following the fish in the pool with their new goggles. Just remember to take them out of the water when done or else they will swim away. These fish are so much fun that they will be coming with us on our next tropical vacation as well!

Another travel Easter basket idea he included was a new movie. This year there are two great new releases: Disney’s Moana and Sing. Movies are not only easy to carry in a suitcase but also provide an activity for a rainy day or a new activity for the trip home.

Finally, because we have daughters, they each received a cute necklace. Now, as a shameless plug here, this could easily be a new pair of EarZings for those girls without pierced ears. However, since my daughters have all of the EarZings they desire, they were excited for a new necklace. Similar items could be a new athletic or fashion headband, a package of hairbands, or a hair bow. All are nice and compact.

Of course, the EB also included candy and gum favorites but stayed away from a lot of solid chocolate for fear of melting in a hot bag left out in the sun. Some other brainstorm ideas for the EB could be a new pair of sunglasses, sunscreen lip balm, or a travel size Wet Brush. (While I originally thought it was all just hype, the Wet Brush is truly the best.)

As a mother of 2 fashionable daughters, I know how hard it is to find stylish clothing and accessories that are not too mature, and yet not too youthful either. It is also a challenge to find unique items that their friends do not have already. It is my personal experience that clothing stores with great children’s and tween departments are few and far between. Many brick-and-mortar stores are disappearing completely and the kids departments are continually shrinking. A lot of the clothing and accessories offered are bland and boring. Like you, I am always on the look out for an ideal mix of style, great colors, practicality and that also are available for a (somewhat!) reasonable cost.

Our hope by introducing AccessoriZing blog is to appeal to both the girls and the adults who shop for them. We will help identify the hottest fashion trends, gift ideas, and other exciting fashion topics! The goal is to make clothes shopping and gift giving easy. Beautifully Bella Faith- Perfect Option for My Daughter!

Bella is 6 years old and does not have her ears pierced. I’ve left the decision up to her since it’s her body, and she hasn’t brought it up…until she started first grade. She wanted earrings and thought they looked pretty, but didn’t want them pierced due to the thought of pain. We aren’t fans of clip-on dress-up earrings in this house, as the backs always seem to snap off! I wanted to get her earrings that weren’t just for dress-up play, but didn’t require pain (albeit very brief pain). That’s where EarZings came into the picture!

These were going to be a surprise for Bella, so I picked the designs that I thought she’d love the most — the cupcake and the dolphin! Once I showed her, she couldn’t wait for me to slip them on her ears and for her to ‘model’ them for my blog.

One of the most important reasons why I decided to go with EarZings is comfort. Clip-on earrings often pinch and can become irritating after awhile. Magnetic earrings are even MORE annoying! EarZings stayed on my daughter’s ears without even so much as a wince of discomfort. She barely noticed they were even on, besides the fact that she was showing them off to everyone! She’s able to put them on in the mornings, and they will still be on her ears when I pick her up. I cannot say the same about her ponytails! LOL ?

They have some really cool designs and boy do they stay in place. We tried them at the show and they were easy to take on and off, but really hung on to your ear. EarZings Review

Last February I discovered these adorable faux earrings called EarZings. They are pierce-free and designed by a Mom. She wanted to satisfy her daughter who wanted her ears pierced, but as a Mom, she wasn’t ready to let her daughter do so. After some tinkering, this forward-thinking Mom created Earzings.

The EarZings are different from clip on earrings, which, based on personal experience, can get rather uncomfortable quickly. These have a coil clip system so you can just slide it over an earlobe and it acts like a soft spring to keep it comfortable (but stable) on little ears.

However, it is also a great option for older adults who don’t want their ears pierced or if you wanted to look like you had more than basic pierced ears. You could clip it for doubled pierced ears or even as a trendy piercing on another part of your ear.

EarZings are made in the USA and are lead free, nickel free, cadmium and other heavy metal free. They are also hypoallergenic.

The other thing I like about them, is that the designs are sparkly and fun. When I got a complimentary pair, I have to admit, it was hard to part with them and give them to my daughter. Being the good Mom I am (LOL), I gave them to her and she adores her earrings – so she can be like Mommy.

While most of the EarZings are designed to act as stud earrings, you can also get dangles to add for fun options and dressier occasions.

EarZings is an alternative for pierced ear but not a clip on like when I was a teen and wanted earrings as they just were the style back in the late 80’s I tried pierced once but got a bad infection on one of my ears and ended up at the doctors getting the back removed that somehow when in my skin I was ten years old when it happened so later in my teens I was afraid to get it pierced again and bought clip ones that really squeezed and hurt my ear I was not impress. I was very excited to try these as I think they just are a fashion statement and add style. I got three pair sent to me to review and I chose Hootie which is a green and yellow trendy owl. Squirt is an aqua sea turtle and Infinity Dangles which is the symbol of infinity in a sliver this can be worn alone or with any earZings.

My Opinion: I like them and they do feel great on my ears but I did take a long time figuring out how to position them and watched the video numerous times. I think these are great for girls as some may have an allergy to metals used in piercings and this is a safe alternative.

She needed help putting them on; all you have to do is slide the spring part of the EarZing over each ear lobe. The metal spiral design holds the earring in place very well; although you can still tug them off with a gentle pull.

I can’t wait to give these to her. I picked out some designs that I think she will love! After Christmas, I will let her visit the site and see what other designs she likes and order a few more. As a parent, knowing these are lightweight, will fit Rose perfectly and actually be worn versus clip-on earrings that pinch and have long been discarded – I would happily buy more of them for her!

EarZings are pierce-free earrings for girls of all ages. My niece is 7 1/2 and does not have her ears pierced and she keeps saying she wants eats so when I seen that the EarZings do make your ears look like you have them done I knew she was going to go crazy over them.

The EarZings are very easy to put on all you have to do is remove the EarZings from the card that they come on. Hold it by the cute little charm ans stretch your earlobe out just a little bit and slide your ear right in. She said that the EarZings are comfortable to have on and do not pinch her ears at all. But she also said sometimes they do make her ears a little red if she keeps them on to long or sleeps with them on.

Sometime around the birth of my oldest daughter it was asked of me when I planned to get her ears pierced and where I’d consider taking her to have it done. At first I was very noncommittal and had planned to wait until she was at least 6 months old; I amused myself by searching online for the cutest pairs of diamond studs and little hoops. As time went on though I began to have second thoughts about the idea of piercing her ears simply for my own selfish pleasure. The more I thought about it the more I convinced myself that piercing someones ears without their consent was not a decision I was comfortable with. It wasn’t long before I became determined to wait until my oldest reached the age where she could decide for herself whether or not she wanted to pierce her body. My Sophia will be 5 in May and so far I’ve stuck to my decision but sometimes I do think to myself how darn cute she would look with a pair of earrings in her ears.

Luckily for me I was approached by a company called EarZings who wanted to have me feature them on my blog during the holidays. I didn’t think about it, but the white rubber grip should actually slide up the back side of the earlobe so that you can’t see it when looking at my daughter from the front side. The grip simply adds extra friction against the skin to help hold the earZing on!

My Review:
My two girls have fallen in love with earZings! They are currently sharing them, which is something you can’t normally do with real earrings. We love both the flowers and butterflies. I might also purchase a few pairs for their stockings! EarZings Dangles are easily interchangeable! You can add flowers to the butterfly earZings or flowers to the soccer ball earZings to make them a little more girlie if so desired. I can’t wait to see more designs in the future! EarZings are such a great item for all girls. They are designed for the fashionista in your life that doesn’t want their ears pierced. I am excited to have this on the 2015 OMG Goodies Holiday Gift Guide.

My Thoughts about EarZings –

When I was 8 years old, I got my ears pierced. It hurt so bad. I remember that pain even today! Now that I have daughters, I had theirs done when they were little. They cried for a split second and that was it. I remember crying the entire 45 minute drive home. I always loved jewelry and wanted them done but goodness, if I was to go back and do it again, I am afraid I wouldn’t do it. Nowadays girls have options. With the festive season approaching visiting family and friends, we dress up and look pretty and my daughter is one of those girly girls and fashionable. We want to look respectable and still be fashionable.

I have had to listen to her wanting to have her ears pierced as you know they see their friends with pierced ears and want the same. I feel that she is too young to find the best clip on earrings for her is like a nightmare as they always seem to get lost or hurt her too much. Finding the correct girlie ones for her age is just as difficult.

Well we both got a surprise as EarZings offered me 2 pairs of their latest pierce free jewelry to review. I think my daughter was more amazed than I was. It came in a soft pink see-through bag. She immediately wanted me to put them on her ears.

Firstly, these earrings are very different to your normal clip on types as it has a coil design. We followed the instructions provided by EarZings. First, I had to position the rubber grip with one and half turns from the start of the wire. I stretched her earlobe and slid on the earring. They went on her ears easy and the package advised that if they pinch the ears you placed them incorrectly.

It looked pretty on her ears. She wore them the whole day without any complaints of painful ears; she showed them off to all she encountered and is very pleased with her new fashion accessory. By bedtime, she had actually forgotten she had the earrings on her ears and I removed them quietly without waking her up.

Well I am finally pleased that I could now buy her some more of these comfortable pierce free earrings.
